Peer review means that before an article is published, other scholars or researchers check the article to make sure it's credible, and let the author and publisher know if changes need to be made to improve it before publishing.
Academic journal articles are articles written by scholars, for scholars (and that's you!). Academics are professors, graduate students, researchers, or other experts in the field who write articles with a very specific focus.
Academic journal articles may or may not be peer-reviewed!
AND, OR, and NOT are special Boolean Logic terms that research databases read in a special way. You will use them to combine your main ideas/keywords.
Put quotes " " around a phrase of two or more words and your results will include that exact phrase.
AND is put between main idea keywords to bring back results that have all the main ideas.
OR is put between synonyms or related keywords to bring back results that have any of those words included
Use NOT to remove irrelevant searches from your list - simply add a row that starts with NOT and put terms you don't want in that line
Use "" around a phrase or commonly-used group of words, like "social media" or "body image"
